SourceAbled is seeking a remote direct hire Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Category Manager for an insurance industry client.

Job Summary

The Category Manager will leverage their category expertise to support, develop, and execute against subcategory plans as defined in the overall category strategies.
They will lead and manage specialized sourcing and contract negotiations as well as providing custom, category specific insight and analysis in support of the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) team.
The Category Manager will utilize category expertise to provide oversight to SS&P team for any specialized sourcing or contract requests.

Essential Job Functions

Leverage category expertise (eg industry trends, benchmarking, category best practices) to support the development and execution of subcategory plan(s) as defined by the category strategies.
Manage the ongoing management of subcategory plans through pipeline development, compliance tracking, and ongoing subcategory planning sessions with the operational stakeholders and budget owners.
Lead discussions and provide category expertise and oversight required to manage specialized negotiations for high complexity contracting assignments (Master Service Agreements (MSA), Non Disclosure Agreements (NDA), Amendments, Statements of Work (SOW), and Work Orders (WO)) that require heightened category knowledge.
Provide category expertise and oversight required to lead highly specialized RFx projects (Request for Information, Request for Proposals, etc.) that carry higher levels of risk, complexity, and financial opportunity than standard engagements.
Support leadership team in preparing custom, request based, and/or category/subcategory presentation materials for department heads and executives including in depth analysis driven by business unit requests.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Requirements

Six years relevant experience in a sourcing, procurement, or purchasing role required, including at least two years with category management responsibilities
